Clearing the Way

1 Thessalonians 3:11
Now may our God and Father himself and our Lord Jesus clear the way for us to come to you.

Paul desires to supply what is lacking in the faith of his brothers and sisters.

Have you ever been prevented from seeing a brother or sister? Many trials impede the fellowship of God’s people. Prison likely prevented Paul from coming to provide direct, in-person spiritual aid.
Illness can separate believers and prevent our gathering. All manner of natural and man-made disasters can prevent our gathering together. These and many other causes prevent the gates-of-hell shaking gathering of God’s people.

Whether it’s to reach out in love to an old friend in Jesus, or to cross ocean and wilderness to display Jesus’ redemptive work to those far off, let us pray for God to clear our way.

And let him fill us with the strength and love, of Christ, to keep our feet walking in it.
